The founding history of The Company Hajee Essa & Co. can be traced to the early 19th century, started by its founder Hajee Essa Lal Mohamad who have started his career by working in an import and export firms in Bangladesh, Burma, India, Pakistan, Singapore and Malaya then. The Company Hajee Essa & Co. established in 1950 by opening its business in 14 King Street, Penang. In 1978 it have been incorporated to Hajee Essa Sdn. Bhd.
